of continuous rotation. These parts are cooled with water that has
to be removed. The Birsfelden plant is no exception. |

Since 1985, this source of
heat has been supplied to Alternativ-Energie AG, a company in which
Birsfelden AG holds shares. AE AG supplies heating and hot water to
nearly 1500 homes in a neighboring district simply by using heat from
the hydropower plant – to the greatest satisfaction of local
residents. |
