Under the founding
contract, the two cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft acquire 50
percent each of the shares in the new company. Basel-Stadt allowed Basel-Landschaft
to include two utilities – Elektra Birseck and Elektra Baselland –
among the founders and the two privately-run Elektra cooperatives acquire
a 25 percent stake between them. |
